For Immediate Release: GRSi to Support the BRAC Realignment of the Walter Reed Military Medical Center December 19, 2009, as part of a team headed by GDIT, we will perform specialized hospital transition and relocation services that include provisioning and relocating medical and non-medical IT equipment. In compliance with the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process, the Army, Navy, and Air Force in the National Capital Region will integrate their military medical resources to deliver enhanced clinical care and foster collaborative military medical research. This mission will include outfitting the new Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and the Dewitt Army Community Hospital at Ft. Belvoir, VA. The $322M contract to support continuous and seamless provision of healthcare service to patients in all locations served by the Walter Reed Health Care System (WRHCS) was awarded to GDIT by the Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA). WRHCS provides comprehensive health care for more than 150,000 soldiers, other service members, family members, and retirees in the National Capital Area. According to Milton Eldridge, Jr., GRSi Program Manager, GRSi will provide medical logistical services that range from installation, standardization, safety testing, calibration, and certification to decontamination and disposal, as an integral part of the GDIT team. “We are proud to be part of this team and are very aware that our efforts ultimately serve the men and women who protect this country,” said Eldridge.
