Grove Resources Solutions Welcomes New President

Deborah M. Grove, founder and chief executive officer, of Grove Resource Solutions, Inc. (GRSI), has announced the arrival of David Affeldt as president and chief operating officer of this Frederick-based, government and commercial contracting firm.

“Having worked on several opportunities together over the years, David and I came to realize that the synergies in our professional philosophies and goals are so aligned that together we could take this company to the next level of growth and maturity,” explained Ms. Grove.

Prior to GRSI, Affeldt was with Wyle Information Systems (formerly RSIS), serving as chief technology officer, providing executive management across the company’s Civilian, Defense, and Science & Engineering divisions. Previously, he was vice president of Integration Services at RSIS, managing the company’s largest contract ($425M) and a principal on the company’s landmark A76 award, the largest made to a small business ($1B+).

His 20+ years of experience includes officer level roles at other technology companies, as well as civil service as a program CIO at the National Institutes of Health and Director of Information Systems for the Defense Security Service in the Department of Defense. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University, an M.B.A. from Loyola College, a Ph.D. in Information Systems Management, and is PMI PMP and ITIL certified.

GRSI is a woman-owned small business providing professional services and technology solutions on contract to the U.S.Army at Ft. Detrick, the U.S. Navy at SPAWAR Charleston, and The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD. among others. The company was established in 2000 and has grown to over 200 employees.
